We are planning an event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Acorn Computers. To aid our planning of entertainment and catering, we need to establish how many people are likely to attend.
The invitation is being extended to anyone who was an employee of AcornComputers or one of its subsidiary companies in the UK or overseas, and their partners, and to people closely associated with the initial BBC Micro computer program project.
A small contribution to the costs of the event may be required, and any surplus will be given to a local charity.
The email address, info@AcornReunited.org.uk can also be used for correspondance regarding the event.
Please respond as soon as possible so that we can gauge demand, any expressions of interest will not be taken as firm bookings at this time. Booking details will be sent out closer to the time, at that time bookingswill then be taken on a first come basis.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Commemorative Programme (with photographs) We are producing a commemorative programme for the event and would like to collect photographs illustrating the history of Acorn to include in the program . The website will shortly be extended to enable you to upload your own photographs for consideration for inclusion.
Finally, it would assist us immensely if you can help spread the word about the reunion among other former colleagues you are in touch with or may see. There are still many who have not registered online and may or may not be aware of what is planned. Please continue to pass details on to anyone you feel should be there and encourage them to register online.
Thank you.
As mentioned in the previous update email we would like to collect and share some of our photographic memories of the history of Acorn Computer. These photographs will we hope be on display at the reunion event in September, selected images may also be published in the commemorative event program.
Photographs should illustrate the history of Acorn and be a sufficient resolution for reproduction in a printed program (minimum 1500 x 1000) if scanning from photograph prints please scan with a resolution of at least 300 DPI. Images will be accepted in JPEG, GIF, PNG, formats and up to a maximum of 5 Mb in size. Images must be ones you own (i.e. took yourself). Promotional images, logos or images from magazines and newspapers are more problematic as we can not be certain of the copyright situation with such images.
Unfortunately much of Acorns history was before the advent of wide scale digital photography. In order to lighten the load on the organizing team we would ask you to scan and upload you own prints to the archive site. When scanning from photograph prints please scan with a resolution of at least 300 DPI.
Please do keep an eye on the website http://www.acornreunited.org.uk for more details and look out for more emails as the event approaches. We look forward to seeing you all in September.
Do continue to spread the word about the reunion among former colleagues you are in touch with or may see. There are still many who have not registered online and may or may not be aware of what is planned. Please continue to pass details on to anyone you feel should be there and encourage them to register online.
